Chattisgarh: How Green is My Valley!

Best places to visit in Chattisgarh, sightseeing & tourist attractions in Chattisgarh

Though Chattisgarh is well endowed with riches – ancient monuments, dense forests, abundant wildlife, exquisite temples, Buddhist sites, palaces, waterfalls, caves, rock paintings and more – it has for long fallen in the tourism shadow of a larger Madhya Pradesh. Ever since it attained the status of a separate state of the Indian Union in 2001, Chattisgarh has started to claim its place on the tourist map of the country and the world.

Map of Chattisgarh

The land locked state lies in the east central India. It shares borders with Madhya Pradesh in the northwest, a sliver of Uttar Pradesh in the north, Jharkhand in the northeast, Orissa in the east, Maharashtra in the west and Andhra Pradesh in the south.

Why Chattisgarh – Places You Should Not Miss in Chattisgarh

The fact that Chattisgarh was a relatively late starter has worked to its advantage for much of what it has to offer has not been sacrificed at the altar of development. There is an earthiness about the state, a large part of which is still inhabited by simple tribal folk who have been untouched by civilization and that is what makes it so endearing.
