City Palace

Located in the heart of the walled city, the City Palace complex is a blend of Mughal and Rajasthani architectural styles. The Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Museum and the Maharani’s Palace (with its display of Rajput weapons) are part of the complex.

 

Jantar Mantar
Located next to the City Palace, this is the largest and most impressive of the five ancient observatories in India.

 

Hawa Mahal

The iconic palace of wind with honeycombed windows overlooking the busy bazaar is undoubtedly the most recognized landmark in the city.

 

Amber
Amber, the elegant sandstone and marble citadel, located on a hill 11 km from the main city, was the ancient residence of the local rulers before they shifted their capital to Jaipur in the plains below.

 

Jaigarh Fort

This spectacular hilltop fort, overlooking Jaipur, houses, among other treasures, the giant Jai Ban which is the largest cannon in the world. 

Nahargarh Fort

The main attraction of this hilltop fort is Madhavendra Bhawan comprising 12 interconnected identical suites for queens and an additional suite for the king. 

Ram Niwas Garden & Albert Hall

Right in the middle of the sprawling Ram Niwas garden just outside the walled city is Albert Hall, a colonial structure which combines European and Indian architectural styles.

 

Moti Dungri & Ganesh Temple

Perched on the summit of Moti Dungri, a small hillock within the city, is the replica of a Scottish castle and a little temple dedicated to Lord Ganesh.

 

Gaitore

The final resting place of the Maharajas of Jaipur is studded with cenotaphs and chhatris that are typically Rajput in their design.

 

Kanak Vrindavan
This is a vast terraced garden in the foothills of the Nahargarh hills embellished with an exquisitely carved temple.

November to February, when the climate is at its best and the temperatures range from a minimum of 8* C to a maximum of 22* C.

One could also include a visit to the Rantembore National Park to the south east near the border with Madhya Pradesh
